A-Plus PolyWood® Hi-Performance 2K Polyurethane Floor Varnish is a professional grade Polyurethane varnish designed specially for heavy-duty flooring and furniture applications. It is a two-component solvent-based varnish that cures fast to a clear, tough, non-slip, mar resistant glossy film that is resistant to abrasion, chemicals, and UV exposure. It is the choice of varnish for export industries of wooden furnitures, countertops, parquet flooring, and many more.

Coverage:

18-20 sqm per gallon /coat as sealer
20-25 sqm per gallon / coat as topcoat

Surface Dry: 1 hour

Overnight curing time for light traffic
3-7 days to achieve full strength

Thinning: A-Plus PolyWood® 2K Polyurethane Reducer at 30% by total volume when spraying to improve film build

Surface Preparation & Precautions

Ensure wooden substrate is fully kiln dried/treated. Surface to be painted should be clean and dry, free from dust, dirt, and other foreign matter.
To remove any wood discoloration, apply A-Plus® Wood Bleach #1 & #2. If previously coated, remove old and loose paint by stripping off with A-Plus Supertanggal® Paint Remover.
Sand surface smooth using #180 grit sandpaper or use a planetary grinder.
Correct surface imperfections by using A-Plus® Fast-Drying Plastic Wood Filler.
Vacuum surface clean and wipe with A-Plus® PG Lacquer Thinner prior to application of sealer.

Precautions:

Use paint only on 65-95% relative humidity environment conditions for better performance.
MIXING RATIO for both sealer and topcoat is 3:1 paint and catalyst, respectively.
Mix contents well before using. Use at package viscosity. Allow at least 3 minutes induction period prior to application.
Apply brush using single long strokes to achieve better uniformity and prevent micro bubbles.

Painting Procedure

For Wooden Parquet:

Sealer: Apply at least 2 coats of A-Plus PolyWood® Hi-Performance 2K Polyurethane Wood Sealer. Mixing ratio is 3:1 by volume sealer and catalyst, respectively. Allow at least 1 hour drying, followed by light sanding (#220) in between each coat.
Stain (Optional): Apply A-Plus® Penetrating Wood Stain using either brush or spray.
Putty: A-Plus® Fast-Drying Plastic Wood Filler. Sanded lightly and spot primed before topcoat application.
Topcoat: Apply at least 2 coats of A-Plus PolyWood® Hi-Performance 2K Polyurethane Floor Varnish by mixing varnish with catalyst at 3:1 ratio by volume using either a brush or spray. Allow at least 1 hour drying and light sanding (#400) in between.
If necessary, thin with A-Plus PolyWood® 2k Polyurethane Reducer at 30% by total volume when spraying to improve film build.
