Surface Preparation & Precautions

General Precautions:

The resulting finish may vary according to application technique, applicator, substrate color, tools used, lighting, and many more.
For best results, apply in a small area first to confirm desired effect.
If desired, this product may be tinted using A-Plus® Acri-Tinting Colorants to achieve various shades.
The color of the wall may affect the overall tone especially for gray substrates.
Paint your wall’s first coat in one session to prevent overlapping and edges to dry out.
Avoid retouching spots on areas once you have painted, as this could result in a patchy looking result.
Do make use of consistent strokes during application to ensure uniformity of the overall effect.
Wipe trowel edges periodically to clean and prevent build-up of dried material. Installed finishes exhibit variations in lightness/darkness. Use a flexible, plastic trowel to avoid metal marks or “staining” the finish.
Store in a cool dry place, away from heat and exposure to sunlight.

Surface Preparation:

Surface to be coated must be thoroughly cleaned, free of any dirt, curing compounds, or contaminants.
Scrape off cement residue and loose material using a stiff brush or spatula then sand away rough edges.
For fresh concrete, apply at least 1-2 coats of A-Plus® Concrete Sealer.
Do not intermix with other paint systems in order to preserve optimum product properties.
MIX WELL before using.

Painting Procedure

Application Procedure:

On very hot conditions prevent pre-mature drying by slightly misting/dampening the surface using a rag/sponge soaked in water.
Primer: Apply A-Plus SoHo® Primer-Sealer using either a brush or roller. Allow to dry for at least 2 hours.
First coat: Using a steel trowel or putty knife, apply a 1mm thin coat of A-Plus SoHo Shimmera® in random crisscross strokes until surface is fully covered. Do not allow edges to dry when working over large areas. Allow to dry for at least 2-3 hours before sanding lightly.
Second coat: Apply another coat of A-Plus SoHo Shimmera® at varying thickness and strokes to create the desired texture effect on the surface. Allow to dry overnight before final sanding.
Topcoat(Optional): For added protection and durability, apply A-Plus SoHo® Protective Finishing Sealer using either brush or roller.
