Glazer® Industrial Epoxy Enamel (Generic)

Glazer® Industrial Epoxy Enamel is a professional grade 2-component Epoxy topcoat that utilizes advance grade Epoxy resin system. It is formulated for long-term protection of heavy-duty construction and industrial requirements for metal, wood, and concrete. It exhibits superior abrasion, alkali, chemical, corrosion, and weathering resistance as well as having excellent adhesion/sealing properties. It finishes to a glossy and heavy-duty coat ideal for building, construction, and marine applications.

Specifications

Principal Uses: Recommended heavy-duty industrial coating for both interior and exterior surfaces such as metal, galvanized iron, wood and masonry. Also used as a topcoat for Glazer Galva-Plus® Epoxy Primer.

Coverage: 25-30 sqm per gallon / coat

Surface Dry: 2 – 3 hrs

Recoat Interval: 4 – 6 hrs

Dry Through: Cures overnight. Abrasion resistance against foot traffic fully develops after three (3) days of curing. For heavy-duty application, allow seven (7) days of drying.

Thinning: A-Plus® PG Epoxy Reducer

Clean-up Solvent: A-Plus® PG Epoxy Reducer

Application: Brush/Roller/Spray

Mixing Ratio: 3:1 Paint to Catalyst, Respectively

Potlife: 4-6 hrs

Surface Preparation & Precautions

Precautions:

Mix only enough paint for use in one session or paint job.
Excess mixture that are not used up will gel within the day.
Do not put mixed components back into its original container.
Avoid painting under extreme environmental conditions and/ or bad weather conditions.

For Metal Surfaces:

Remove dust, dirt, grease, oil, wax and other foreign matter using a rag soaked in paint thinner.
For repainting, use A-Plus Supertanggal® Paint Remover to strip off old paint film to bare substrate then remove oil and grease by detergent cleaning followed by scuff sanding. To remove rust, wire brush or strip affected areas after applying A-Plus® Rust Converter. Let it sit for 10 – 15 minutes before washing off surface thoroughly with water, letting it dry before applying paint. Primer should be applied immediately upon drying of the surface before rust sets in.

For Concrete Surfaces:

Ensure proper surface preparation by removing any oil and dirt by detergent cleaning.
Roughen surface by scuff sanding to enhance paint grip and adhesion. If necessary, use mechanical tools such as a planetary grinder for uneven surfaces.
Rinse the concrete thoroughly with water to wash away residues that could affect paint adhesion. Allow ample time for the concrete surface to dry.
To repair large concrete surface imperfections, use either of the following:

– A-Plus Procrete® Low Viscosity Construction Epoxy – used for patching medium-sized concrete imperfections covering a large area.
– A-Plus Procrete® High Viscosity Construction Epoxy – used for patching larger-sized concrete imperfections covering smaller areas.

For Wooden Surfaces:

Ensure proper surface preparation by removing any oil and dirt by scuff sanding.
For repainting, use A-Plus Supertanggal® Paint Remover to strip off old paint film to bare substrate then remove oil and grease by detergent cleaning followed by scuff sanding.

Painting Procedure

Mixing Direction:

Stir and shake both components separately before mixing together.
Slowly add the hardener to the paint while mixing slowly and thoroughly for 5-10 minutes before application. For better mixing, transfer both components to a larger container. Mixing ratio: 3:1 by volume paint and catalyst, respectively.
For maximum performance, allow at least 20 minutes induction period of mixture before using. Mix just enough for use on one working session.
WARNING! Pot life of mixed Paint and Hardener is 6 hours at room temperature.
If necessary, thin down minimally with A-Plus® PG Epoxy Reducer.
MIX WELL BEFORE USING.

For Wood and Metal Surfaces:

Primer: Apply at least 1 coat of Glazer Galva-Plus® Epoxy Primer. Let dry 4 hours to overnight. To ensure good intercoat adhesion, apply topcoat within 3 days after priming.
Putty:To fix minor surface imperfections, use A-Plus Polytite® Polyester Body Filler or A-Plus A&B® Non Sag Epoxy Adhesive.
Topcoat: Apply at least 2 coats of Glazer® Industrial Epoxy Enamel over the well-primed surface. Allow at least 4-6 hours before recoating.

Concrete Surfaces:

Ensure proper surface preparation.
Primer: Apply at least 1 coat of Glazer Galva-Plus® Epoxy Primer using either a brush/roller. Let dry overnight. To ensure good intercoat adhesion, apply topcoat within 3 days after priming.
Topcoat: Apply at least 2 coats of Glazer® Industrial Epoxy Enamel over the well-primed concrete. Allow at least 4-6 hours before recoating.

Water Tank (Interior)

Ensure proper surface preparation.
Primer: Apply at least 1 coat of Glazer Galva-Plus® Epoxy Primer White. Let dry 4 hours to overnight. To ensure good intercoat adhesion, apply topcoat within 3 days after priming.
Topcoat: Apply at least 2 coats of Glazer® Industrial Epoxy Enamel over the well-primed surface. Allow at least 4-6 hours before recoating. Allow to full cure for at least 1 week before using tank.
